Mrs. Davis had her seventh grade students design wooden hexagons to go inside the ring of desks. These were used to keep things from falling in the middle of the desks and creating more desk space. This activity teaches the students how to apply area and calculate angles. These skills are good to have so they can be applied in real world situations. They can be used in construction and architecture. Having these abilities can come in handy to solve problems more efficiently. We would like to thank Terry Davis for helping make their vision come to life.
